  just been looking heavily into wt quotes today to see their swings and roundabouts version of 'truth', and i came across this.

  bearing in mind that the revelation book has recently had a spruce up and 70 adjustments needed to be added...:.

  i plan on inviting a close family member ..(who has been a jw for several years).. to share thanksgiving with us this year.

  my husband and i have never been jws.

  what exactly is a jw's reason for not taking part in thanksgiving??.

  true story

  Shortly before I left I was out in "service" with 3 other women the driver who later turned me in to the elders for questioning the gb said to the car group "why is it again that we don't celebrate thanksgiving" the little old lady in the back seat piped up "its a pagan holiday" I said "no its not its not really anything" pin drop time subject changed quickly.

  most witnesses especially don't get the reasons for thanksgiving boycott they just hem haw around it and obey.

  Tame animals in the New System ™

  i'm having a major issue with this.

  not long ago i had 100 'friends' - or so i thought.

  i certainly had 100 or more people who said they were friends.

  then i left a cult, and found myself with very few friends - those kind in the flesh, in the community.

  I've been to some huge witness funerals. I remember one because a lady working in a coffee shop said to me "he must have been dearly love" and I thought all it would have taken is "I don't think this is the truth" and that old man would have had a different funeral the lady in the coffee shop would have said "he must have been a lonely man".

  I thought also of myself if I had died as a witness there would have been a big funeral but now only a handful of people maybe.

  Que sera sera who cares whose at your funeral anyway
